Where to Stay (Room Selection & Renovations)
- Renovation Status: Guest feedback highlights a divide between the Oceanside (1-26) and the Hillside (201-329). The Oceanside cottages often feel more “authentic Caribbean” but show more wear. Recent updates have focused on interior soft goods (bedding/TVs) in the Hillside villas, which generally offer more modern kitchenettes.
- Quiet & Sleep: For maximum tranquility, target buildings 342, 237, or 322-329. Being across the road from the beach, these units avoid the evening noise from Splash Restaurant.
- Convenience: For families with kids, buildings 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 are the “Gold Standard.” They offer immediate access to the main pool and are steps away from the sand and food.
Top Spots & Hidden Gems
- Guest Favorites: The Splash Restaurant deck is the heart of the resort. Guests consistently rate it as the best spot for sunset viewing with a “Goombay Smash” cocktail in hand.
- Secret Locations: Look for the gazebo areas and shaded hammocks tucked between the Lobby and building 1. It’s a quiet pocket often overlooked by people heading straight to the pool.
- Dining Tips: Don’t miss the “Conch Fritters” at Splash. Regulars recommend the local Exuma breakfast (boiled fish or stew conch) served on specific mornings—ask the front desk for the schedule.
Practical Layout & Distances
- The Divide: The Property Map clearly shows the “Queen’s Highway” splitting the resort. If you stay in the 200s or 300s, you must cross a public road to reach the beach.
- Topography: The Hillside area (North of the road) has a significant incline. While it offers better views, it is not ideal for strollers or those with mobility issues.
- Shortcuts: There is a small pedestrian path near the Lobby that cuts the walking time to the beach for those staying in the Private Parking side (units 40-52).
Map FAQ
- Where are beach towels provided? Towels are typically available at the Lobby or adjacent to the Fitness Room area.
- Is the Hillside Pool heated? Generally, no; however, the Bahamas sun keeps the Hillside Pool (near 231) quite warm compared to the ocean.
- How far is Georgetown? It is a 5-minute drive or a 20-25 minute walk heading West (left on the Resort Layout).
- Is there a shuttle for the Hillside? No formal shuttle exists, but the walk from the furthest Hillside unit (342) to the beach is approximately 7-10 minutes.
